Description
Beschorneria yuccoides is another outrageous member of the Agave family which we have we wouldn’t be without in the garden. Beschorneria yuccoides is a lush spiky looking but soft to touch exotic-looking Mexican native boasting long, arching sword-shaped leaves which form a bold and vibrant clump. Followed in summer by chunky flower stems rising a metre or so above the plant holding wonderful pink tulip like flowers which which arch over above the leaves.
For best results, Beschorneria yuccoides requires a sunny and sheltered position in free draining soil. You may also plant it in a container. During the colder months you may wish to offer a little protection from any extreme wet and cold weather.
Beschoneria require very little attention other than the occasional water however any tatty leaves may be snipped off if required. This is a wonderful addition to an exotic garden, and planted amongst other hardy exotics.
