Description
Impatiens auricoma x bicaudata is a fabulously exotic Impatiens, native to Madagasca. Although not hardy in the UK, it can be grown outside in the warmer months to great effect, and can be moved into a frost free site during the winter months.
The flowers are outrageous and form during the summer months in wonderful shades of bold orange-red and yellow with an almost orchid-like appearance. Leaves are bright green with deep red stems further adding to the tropical appearance of this Impatiens. The lanceolate leaves have beautifully serrated edges with veining showing hints of red.
Impatiens auricoma x bicaudata will grow equally well in a container in a conservatory or warm bright room. Avoid direct sunlight. If staging or planting oursite during the summer months, choose a shady, well drained but moisture retentive situation and lift the plant before the weather becomes cold.
