Agave macroacantha ‘Little Penguins’

Description

Agave macroacantha ‘Little Penguins’ is a larger more open form of the the ‘Black Spined Agave’ a really architectural smaller sized agave perfect if you love agaves but don’t have the space to accommodate some of the other larger agave. Agave macroacantha’ Little Penguins’ produces symmetrical rosettes of neat grey-blue leaves beautifully contrasted by black spines and terminal spikes. Rarely growing more than 60cm in diameter this agave is happy in a container. Although it can withstand temperatures down to minus 5 degrees celsius it is best grown outdoors during the warmer months and brought into a cool glasshouse or conservatory for winter.
