Pseudopanax lessonii ‘Bronze Eagle’

Description

Pseudopanax lessonii ‘Bronze Eagle’ is another prehistoric-looking Psuedopanax and one for fans of all things whacky.  The appearancde is similar to Psuedopanax crassifolia or ferox in that leaves are long and jagged.  Foliage has a wonderful bronze-green tone and is arranged in an upright shrubby form.  Plant in a full sun to semi-shaded position in free draining soil.  Flowers are similar to those of Fatsia or Ivy and followed by shiny black berries loved by birds.

In cooler areas, frost protection may be required.  You can also grow Pseudopanax lessonii ‘Bronze Eagle’ in a container to great effect.  Minimal fuss and pruning required and an excellent addition.  Be sure to not over-water.
