Description
Carex testacea ‘Prairie Fire’ is a really useful evergreen grass-like sedge from New Zealand, with coppery-gold leaves throughout spring and summer. As the season progresses, generally after a frost or two, the colour intensifies into burnished bronzes and shades of red. When planted in drifts, Carex testacea ‘Prairie Fire’ looks spectacular and is perfect as a ground cover or feature under taller shrubs or grasses. Ideally planted in a sunny position, this Carex is one of our favourites and is easy to grow, being both hardy and tolerant of most conditions.
