Description
Eriobotrya japonica ‘Rose Anne’ is a brilliant new variety of the Loquat Tree. We first discovered ‘Rose Anne’ growing at a small family run nursery in Belgium where the grower told me that this Eriobotrya was discovered growing in a garden locally. It had larger than average leaves, proved to be free from disease and had survived undamaged a couple of really cold winters. Named after the finders daughter ‘Rose Anne’ it has since been grown here at Big Plant Nursery for 2 years with great results. Our plants are propagated by grafting onto a rootstock that is particularly suited to our northern climate and as such we are proud to say that this really is the Eriobotrya we’ve all be waiting for, large leaves, free from disease and hardier.
- Position:Full sun, away from northerly exposure.
- Soil:Any, free draining.
- Eventual Size:4-5m after 20 years.
- Habit:Upright, bushy.
- Foliage:Extra large, textured grey/green leaves.
- Common Names:Rose Anne' Loquat Tree.
