Description
Cyathea tomentosissima, sometimes known as the Highland Lace Fern or Dwarf Wooly Tree fern, is a truly beautiful compact variety originating from the cloud forests of New Guinea. Ultimately and in natural habitats it can reach up to 8ft in height, here in the UK this might be a little ambitious but given the right conditions, in time – not impossible. Not being especially hardy, this is one for container cultivation where it can be moved outside in winter months and kept in a cool glasshouse or conservatory over winter. As the trunk and croziers develop they form wonderful auburn-red hairs creating a wonderfully tactile effect. Place in a shade to semi shaded position and be sure to keep the plant moist. A fabulous variety!
9cm plants will be sent out in courier packs.

Prompt and safe delivery. The plant was a little scruffy on arrival, but clearly v. healthy and is growing well. After a couple of months, with a few new leaves out, it is looking good.
