Description

Panicum virgatum ‘Heavy Metal’ is one of the best most well known varieties of the North American switch grass selected for its strong upright habit and lush metallic blue grey foliage. From mid summer onwards delicate sprays of pink tinted airy flowerheads appear above the blue leaves. Great for adding colour to grass and herbaceaous plantings whilst also adding structure and height where Panicum virgatum ‘Heavy Metal’ will grow to around 1.20cm high.

Plant in full sun for best growth and colour. tolerant of wind and drought once established. Very Hardy.
