Polystichum setiferum ‘Herrenhausen’

Description

Polystichum setiferum ‘Herrenhauses’ is a bold form of the Soft Shield Fern, with chunky upright shuttlecock shaped rosettes of deeply divided semi-evergreen fronds, up to 1 meter high, Herrenhausen is a magnificent fern.  Like other Soft Shield Ferns, Herrenhausen is very hardy and easy to grow being more tolerant of sun than other fern species.  

As always, ferns are best treated to really good fertile compost when planting, and kept moist but not waterlogged during their establishment period.
