Canna indica ‘Red Velvet’

Description

Canna indica ‘Red Velvet’ is another one of our favourite Cannas, with large deep velvety red leaves and a strong growing habit. This Canna forms nice chunky clumps up to around 120cm – 150cm in height which are topped with prolific flower spikes of deep red flowers throghout the summer.

Like most of the dark-leaved cannas, best colour is achieved in a sunny position, especially when planted in fertile moisture retentive soil. 

Can also be grown in a container and responds very well to regular feeding and watering.  

This is another Canna that we find easy to over-winter in the groung given a generous mulch of compost in autumn.
