Description
Begonia luxurians is exceptionally exotic in appearance and highly sought after. Leaves are palm-like with striking red-bronze undersides held on deep red-purple stems which are almost like canes. Originating from the rain forests of Brazil Begonia luxurians is not frost hardy but can be grown to great effect under glass, as a house plant and during the warmer months it can be used in outdoor schemes. Ensure your Begonia is placed out of direct sunlight and keep moist. You will be rewarded with an abundance of outrageous palmate foliage and during spring-summer pale yellow-white flowers form in clusters. Can reach up to 2m in height but can be nipped and tucked to keep it to a manageable size if desired.
