Fatsia japonica

Japanese Aralia False Castor Plant

(3 customer reviews)

Description

Fatsia japonica, the False Castor Oil Plant, is a brilliant shrub, growing to about 2 metres in height with jungly foliage, giving it an exotic look. It looks great planted in semi-shade and associates well with ferns and Hostas. It is tolerant of coastal conditions and is perfectly hardy, with only the young foliage at risk from late frosts. Large white flower spikes are produced in late autumn, followed by black berries in winter (great food for garden birds) an often seen shrub that never loses its appeal. A wonderfully hardy exotic plant for that difficult shady spot either planted or in a container.

  • Foliage:Evergreen.
  • Habit:Rounded evergreen shrub with large, glossy foliage.

This plant was so shiny and healthy when I received it in March 2021 and two months later it just gets better and better, so beautifully healthy and shiny leaves, and growing well.

Hi, just received my third plant this month from your company. Looks great. If this plant settles in as well as the other two, I am going to be extremely delighted. Wanted you to know how pleased I am with the plants and with the service you have provided. Thank you and look forward to doing business with you again in the future. Sue
