Description
Hart’s Tongue Fern. A super hardy British-native fern often seen growing alongside hegderows and forest edges. The Hart’s tongue fern produces long strap like evergreen leaves with shuttlecock-like crowns. The bright, glossy green, often waved fronds can be heart-shaped at the base. Asplenium scolopendrium is a superb fern where year round effect is needed and looks good planted with other ferns as a constrast to the typical fern leaf. Can tolerate drier conditions where it grows well planted next to Polystichum setiferum. Height 45-70cm. Spread 60cm. Plant in semi/full shade, moist fertile soil.
