Description
The ‘Mexican Grass Tree’ is a stunning member of the Dasylirion family not often seen in the U.K which eventually forms beautiful stout trunks up to 3 metres high topped with the lush cascading foliage. Originally known as Nolina longifolia we have been growing this plant for many years and have been impressed by it’s apparent hardiness, surviving heavy frosts with ease as long as the roots are in dryish free draining soil. We’d recommend trying Dasylirion longifolium in mild urban or coastal gardens or growing in a container and protecting by either bringing in a cool glasshouse or conservatory for the winter.
