Description
Hesperoyucca whipplei is a stunning Yucca relative sometimes known as ‘Our Lord’s Candle’ owing to the stout and fabulous, tall flower spike which whill form during the summer months, reaching up to 5m in height on occasion. The flower stem is clothed in beautiful bell-shaped nodding creamy-white slowers which are sweetlt scented, both flowers and stem may be flushed with purple. Leaves are glaucous, blue-green and form a wonderfully dense and architectural rosette reaching up to 1m in height and width.
This is an excellent coastal plant and one for a sunny border, or indeed container growing. Perfectly hardy in the UK and a bold statement to say the least. Plant in free draining fertil soil.
