Description
Yucca rostrata ‘Saphire Skies’ is a beautiful form with very glaucous leave indeed. The leaves form a wonderful dense ball shaped head which will reach up to a metre across and as the plant matures it deveops a thick stem/trunk which can ultimately reach up to 3-4m in height! Occasionally it will flower too producing a flowing stem above the crown holding creamy white fragrant tulip shaped flowers.
This is an excellent plant on the coast and in a sunny position in free draining soil. It’s hardy too and outrageously architectural. Yucca rostrata do grow surprisingly quickly in the UK. You may also grow in containers to great effect.
