Description
Tradescantia x andersonia ‘Blushing Bride’ is a pretty evergreen Tradescantia originally from the forests of Central America where it scampers about the jungly floor occasionally climbing up and over tree trunks. For us this pretty tender plant is a fabulous addition to the garden during the summer months with its green, white and pink tipped leaves nice spreading habit looking great planted amongst jungly plants. Of course being such an ameanable little plant you could easly grow it year round as a house or conservatory too. As the light levels decrease in autumn the intensity of white and pink will fade being replaced with lime green only to return as the days lenghen. Happy in most soils or composts but prefers to be kept slightly damp as it dislikes being too dry.
Oh and did you know Tradescantia have been known in the U.K since the 17th century, first discovered by gardeners and botanists to King Charles 1st the father and son team, John Tradescant snr and John Tradescant jnr !
All Tradescantia are incredibly brittle when handled, when shipping depending on the season we may cut plants back. This is normal, they rapidly grow on and the bits that fall off can be rooted in water easily!
